Welcome
May has arrived with longer days, warmer soil and plenty of activity across the site. It’s been lovely to see so many plots coming into their own over recent weeks, with growers making the most of the improved weather and getting key crops established for the months ahead.
Our website continues to develop and you will have noticed a section has been added introducing our brilliant team if you click the following this link you will be able to meet them.

Notes and reminders
As you are all aware, we are still keeping our hose pipe ban. We thank you all for your support and understanding as this will eventually save the society money and contribute towards our sustainability .
We are still planning for our annual show and will share with all our updates as and when.
·Our website is gaining real traction. In the May society minutes we shared some encouraging statistics, and it’s great to see this reflected in practice we’re now receiving plot enquiries directly through the website
Please keep all dogs on a lead to reduce instances of fouling and please do not use plot 26 as a dumping ground.
Plant sales
We are happy to announce that our plant sales will take place on:
Saturday 16th, Sunday 17th of May and Bank holiday weekend 23rd, 24th and 25th of May 11AM TO 2PM
(CASH SALES ONLY)

If you’re down on your plot and notice anything that needs attention in shared areas, or if you’re happy to lend a hand or share growing tips, please do get involved. We’re also always pleased to receive photos of what’s growing well across the site for future updates.
Final Thoughts
Thank you to everyone for the care, time and enthusiasm you continue to bring to Fairfield. With summer just around the corner, it’s a pleasure to see the allotment thriving and full of life.

Exciting News “Our big project”
You will have seen lots of activity as we make excellent progress with our big build, work preparing the site has been progressing brilliantly.
The supporting base is done and now we are looking forward to getting our container.
We would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who has been involved and please do continue to support us.

What’s Growing Right Now
May is a busy and rewarding time on the allotment, with a wide range of crops going in. We have introduced a “Growing Calendar” that you can access via the following this link
Potatoes, onions and brassicas are well established
Beans, courgettes and squashes are being planted out
Salad crops are already providing early harvests on some plots
With frost risk lowering, this is an ideal month to be planting and planning ahead for summer.
